Legato Bern-Odessa organises musical and pedagogical exchances specifically between Bern and Odessa, but also between other parts of Ukraine and Switzerland, and sometimes in third countries (Poland).
These exchange programmes for students and teachers range from master classes or music symposia to orchestra tours. They produce a lot of valuable ideas and give relevant inputs for Ukraine and Switzerland
Musical and intercultural exchange is a decisive factor in enhancing personal horizons, increasing performance and setting the ground for innovation.
Legato Bern-Odessa has been supporting the exchange of talented young musicians, ensembles and pedagogues since 2003, as for instance with the visit of the Stolyarsky String Orchestra in Berne and the concert tour of the Berne Youth Symphony Orchestra to Odessa and Crimea. Joint concerts have been held in Odessa and Simferopol (Crimea). Our exchange projects also focus on chamber ensemble tours and regular chamber music weeks in Mürren (Bernese Oberland) or in Morawa (Poland).
